I just saw in ‘real time’ how the voice can shift a whole group of people into a deep state of peace.
It was amazing – it happened during a vocal practice for activating “third eye chakra” in my Embodied Voice Academy group call this week. …
After guiding the group through a series of singing, toning, breath and movement exercises, I noticed the energy of the group completely shift.
I opened up the Zoom chat for people to share about their experiences.
(Usually people are eager to share, because so much comes up in these practices and it’s fun to hear from one another!)
But this time...everyone was silent.
I looked around and saw peaceful smiles on people’s faces.
We were just enjoying the silence.
And that’s all we wanted to do – just bask in the pure presence of it all.
No words needed.
It was a profound moment for me as a facilitator of this vocal work.
I’ve been doing this for years now, and have seen many, many people experience these tools…
And, every time, when we get to the third eye vocal practice… it brings people to a state of peace.
It reminds me again and again…that these tools just work.
There is a system and a method to awakening the voice – it’s not just esoteric concepts. It’s very real and tangible!
They work reliably to cultivate the inner qualities of expression: Like confidence, groundedness, safety, peace, heart-centeredness, and creativity.
They also, of course, train your vocal technique to hit those high notes with ease, transition vocal registers seamlessly, and can sing/ speak with authenticity, power and projection.
I keep falling in love with these practices more and more, as I weave them into my own life, and as I share them with my students.
